Intimate spaces like bedrooms need not conform to being an introverted space—extravagant, large spans can make the space push the boundaries of conventional design and open up to a visual abundance. A subtle mix of illusions from the gestalt theories and a thoughtful composition of the mood board can transform a small bedroom to give a feeling of a larger space.

Every space is perceived in parts that fit into a whole—A blank canvas breaks a space and articulates it in multiple directions, throwing better, individual focus on the elements in the foreground. Go minimal on the backgrounds with compact furniture and statement décor. Cut down the layers of interior accessories such as throw pillows, valence

This experience led me to explore the classical schools of architectural theory like Feng Shui and Kanso, and Vastu Shastra. All these ancient bodies of knowledge concentrate on restoring a balance between individuals and the homes they live in.

Advertisements

We believe the passion for mosaic tile may have started from religious customs, traditions, or implications. However, this is not the case at all. The first mosaic examples were discovered in Mesopotamia in Western Asia. The period was the third millennium BC. Colored stones and shells made up the wall display. Our ancestors did not glaze the material.

The most resourceful artists were from Greece and the Egyptians, second in their displays of conflicts and civilizations of their regions. Modern mosaic tiles emerged from trial and error of different materials and glazing. By 64 AD, they covered the walls and ceilings of Pompeii and grand cathedrals with decorative mosaics.
